What a brain map shows that a scan can't

An MRI shows structure. A blood test shows chemistry. A qEEG brain map shows how your brain is actually working, right now. Here is what each one measures, and which answers how do I focus and sleep.

They are not competitors. Each test answers a different question. A qEEG brain map is the one built to show how your brain functions day to day, which is exactly what you train with neurofeedback.

Why we start here

To train function, first see function.

A structural scan can tell you the hardware looks fine and still leave you wondering why focus slips or sleep is thin. A qEEG shows the software, the actual rhythm of your brainwaves, so training targets your patterns instead of a generic template. That is why every NeuroHaven program starts with a brain map. See the five patterns it reads on our brainwave map.

Important

A qEEG brain map at NeuroHaven is a training baseline, not a diagnosis. It is used for informational and training purposes and does not diagnose or treat any medical condition. If you have a medical concern, please see a licensed physician.

Common questions

Quick answers.

Is a qEEG brain map the same as an MRI?

No. An MRI shows the brain's structure, its anatomy. A qEEG shows the brain's function, the live electrical patterns behind focus, sleep, and stress. They answer completely different questions.

Is a qEEG a medical test?

No. At NeuroHaven, a qEEG brain map is a training baseline, not a diagnosis. It shows how your brain is firing so we can personalize your training. It does not diagnose or treat any medical condition.

Does the brain map hurt?

Not at all. A soft cap of 21 sensors reads your brain's own electrical activity for about 90 minutes. Nothing is sent into your brain, and there are no needles.

Why not just get an MRI or blood test?

Those are useful for what they measure, structure and chemistry. But neither shows the moment-to-moment brainwave patterns behind how you focus, sleep, and handle stress. To train those patterns, you first have to see them, which is what a qEEG does.
